Shipping policy

At STEC Battery, we are committed to delivering your energy solutions safely, reliably, and in compliance with applicable international transportation regulations. Because battery products are classified as dangerous goods (Class 9), we follow all required packing, documentation, and shipping guidelines to ensure safe delivery worldwide.


1. Order Processing & Lead Time

In-Stock Orders
Orders for samples or items already in stock are typically processed within 2–5 business days.

Wholesale / Custom Orders
For bulk, OEM, or customized orders, lead time is specified in your Proforma Invoice (PI).
Lead time generally ranges from 15–30 business days depending on order size and customization requirements.

Note: Orders are not processed or shipped on weekends or public holidays.


2. Shipping Methods & Estimated Delivery

We offer multiple shipping methods depending on your order size and delivery requirements:

Express Shipping (Samples & Small Orders)

  • Carriers: DHL, FedEx, UPS, TNT (Dangerous Goods / DG channels)

  • Estimated Delivery: 5–10 business days

Air Freight (Medium Volume)

  • Delivery to nearest international airport

  • Estimated Delivery: 7–15 business days

Sea Freight (Large Volume)

  • Delivery to nearest seaport

  • Estimated Delivery: 25–45 business days (depends on destination)

Important:
Standard postal services are not suitable for lithium battery shipments due to safety regulations. All shipments use compliant dangerous goods carriers.


3. Shipping Restrictions & OFAC Compliance

Shipping availability varies by carrier, destination, and regulatory requirements. However, STEC Battery strictly adheres to international trade regulations and sanctions, including those enforced by the US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
We DO NOT ship to the following countries and regions:
• Cuba
• Iran
• North Korea
• Ukraine: The Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions
Any orders placed with shipping addresses in these regions will be automatically cancelled and refunded. We reserve the right to request additional identification for large orders to comply with export regulations.


4. Shipping Charges & Trade Terms

Shipping Charges
Shipping fees are calculated and displayed at checkout or provided in your Proforma Invoice (PI) for custom orders.

Trade Terms (Incoterms)

  • Standard: EXW (Ex Works) or FOB (Free on Board) from Shenzhen or Hong Kong

  • DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): Available upon request for select countries (e.g., USA, EU)

    • DDP includes handling of duties and customs; please contact our sales team for a quote.


5. Customs, Duties & Taxes

Unless DDP has been agreed upon in advance:

  • STEC Battery is not responsible for customs duties, taxes, tariffs, or other fees assessed by local authorities.

  • Customers (importers) are responsible for all such charges.

  • We recommend checking with your local customs office regarding regulations for importing lithium-ion/LiFePO4 batteries before placing an order.


6. Safety Documentation & Certification

Batteries are classified as Class 9 Dangerous Goods and require specific documentation for export and customs clearance:

We ensure shipments are packed and labeled in accordance with:

✔ UN38.3 Test Requirements
✔ MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet)
✔ Certification for Safe Transport of Chemical Goods

Relevant safety documents will be provided with your shipment or upon request.


7. Order Tracking

Once your order has shipped, you will receive:

  • A Shipment Confirmation email, and

  • A tracking number or Bill of Lading (B/L) reference

Tracking is usually active within 24–48 hours after the carrier receives the shipment.


8. Damages & Delivery Issues

Please inspect your delivery when it arrives:

If the packaging appears damaged:

  1. Take clear photos of the packaging before opening.

  2. Contact us immediately at sales@stecbattery.com.

  3. Please retain packaging materials until the issue is resolved.

We will work with you and the carrier to resolve any delivery issues.
